California doctor, son in custody for selling prescription pills

A Drug Enforcement Administration affidavit alleges that a California doctor and son sold prescription pills and marijuana to drug dealers. The doctor is accused of abusing his medical license to prescribe the drugs, great amounts of which were reportedly discovered in his home, to local and out-of-state patients.

California mayor's husband pleads not guilty to drug charges

The husband of the Montebello mayor has pleaded not guilty to several drug charges stemming from alleged sales of methamphetamine. Some of the drug crime activities were said to have taken place near a middle school, although the man's attorney denies these claims.

2 taken into custody after alleged drug deal

Law enforcement officials in California took two men into custody on various drug charges after observing at a distance what appeared to them to be a drug deal. Upon further investigation, the Santa Clarita officers discovered that the vehicle one of the men was in had been reported stolen. That man faces multiple charges, including one for drug possession.

Two arrested after bicycle stops

Two California men were arrested on drug charges in separate incidents on Oct. 20 in Sacramento. Both men were stopped by police officers while riding bicycles. The first arrest happened at approximately 11:17 pm near the intersection of Lissetta and 12th Avenues. A 35-year-old man was stopped on his bicycle by police and searched. During the search, police reportedly found meth and rock cocaine. The man was arrested and faces charges for possession of drugs for sale.

California man faces multiple drug and firearms charges

A California man is facing trial after police were called to a residence in Belle Vernon where three dogs were reported to have been left in a car with insufficient ventilation. The man is facing multiple charges, including ones related to both firearms and drug possession. When police arrived at the home, they allegedly discovered what appeared to be marijuana-growing paraphernalia during a routine inventory of the vehicle the dogs were held in.

Rapper arrested for drug possession at California airport

Rapper 2 Chainz was taken into custody at LAX after a search of his checked baggage allegedly revealed marijuana and promethazine. Promethazine is used as the main ingredient in a dangerous drug cocktail called sizzurp that is well known among rappers. Although promethazine is legal when properly dispensed by an authorized medical professional, authorities have not confirmed as to whether 2 Chainz had been prescribed the drug by a doctor.

California hikers face drug charges, may be charged for search

Two California teenage hikers were lost in the forest and search parties were sent out to find them. The teens, a 19-year-old male and an 18-year-old female, were found after days of searching. The young man was lost in the forest for three days, and the young woman was found after a week. The cost of the search totaled more than $160,000. When their car was searched, a small amount of drugs was found, and so the teens are now facing drug crime charges.

California man sentenced in drug distribution case

A man from North Hollywood, California was sentenced to 15 months in federal jail for his alleged role in distributing counterfeit pharmaceuticals. The drug crime charges included trafficking Oxycontin and Cialis although evidence was presented to show the drugs may have been counterfeit. The 44-year-old accused man was said to be the involved in marketing counterfeit drugs throughout the United States. The case sprang from a joint investigation by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency or ICE; Homeland Security Investigations or HIS; the U. S. Postal Service; and the Food and Drug Administration or FDA. The man was accused of purchasing the drugs from a Chinese national who was allegedly the head of a counterfeiting ring. A search of his residence and home turned up nearly 1,800 tablets believed to be related to the counterfeit drug racket.

Detectives arrest two for drugs and guns

A search warrant served at a residence in Delano yielded five pounds of methamphetamine as well as a loaded gun and led to the arrest of two men. The drug charges they face stem from a search based on information that one of the residents of the home on Girard Street as well as several other individuals were involved in drug trafficking.Police found the drugs and a .357 handgun upon searching the house. They arrested a 27-year-old Paramount resident at the home as well as a 37-year-old Los Angeles man on suspicion of conspiracy as well as other drug-related crimes.
