Former adult film star pleads guilty to DUI in Orange County

Facing a criminal charge can be one of the most stressful experiences for residents in Orange County and across the country, especially when the charge is publicized in the media. Although some charges, such as a drunk driving charge, cannot always be dropped, a strong criminal defense can help mitigate the consequences of such an allegation. Jail time or a suspended license resulting from a DUI conviction can lead to serious issues when it comes to a person’s job, as well as damage their reputation.

A recent case making headlines is a good example of the way a strong criminal defense can keep a person out of jail and from severe consequences after a DUI arrest. Former adult film star Jenna Jameson was reportedly arrested in May after she struck a pole in Westminster with her Range Rover. She apparently sustained minor injuries in the accident. According to prosecutors in Orange County, Jameson’s blood-alcohol level was 0.13 percent at the time of the accident.

Recently, the former film star pleaded guilty to driving under the influence. According to a news report, she was sentenced to three years of informal probation. She was also ordered to pay $340 in fines, as well as participate in a Mothers Against Drunk Driving victims’ impact panel. Jameson apparently also faced a misdemeanor charge of driving without a valid license, which was dismissed.

As this incident shows, DUI charges are often publicized, especially in the case of a public figure. Along with trying to mitigate the personal effect of such allegations, it is important to work toward a positive resolution of all alleged charges.
