Two men arrested at a Clearlake residence are accused of drug crimes involving methamphetamine manufacturing. Authorities stated that a 27-year-old man from Clearlake and a 32-year-old man from Pope Valley were arrested after officers responded to a call to investigate a Kakul Street residence. The two men were at the house when police arrived and found drug paraphernalia associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine. The two men were also believed to be under the influence of the drug at the time of arrest.
The suspects were booked into the Lake County Jail. The bonds were set at $2,000 for one man and $3,000 for the other. The residence was cleared of chemicals in preparation of the execution of a search warrant, and all hazardous substances were secured and transported to the California Department of Justice for analysis.
Methamphetamine production is a very dangerous process that uses highly toxic chemicals. The securing of a “meth lab” scene prior to a search is very common and requires the cooperation of several different law enforcement agencies and experts.
